Corley Centre is a secondary special school for children with complex social and communication difficulties.  A significant number of students have an autism diagnosis.  Students bring a range of abilities and aspirations, special educational needs, vulnerabilities, challenges and behaviours. Student attainment covers the full National Curriculum and GCSE range.

The school has been awarded NAS Autism Accreditation and a comprehensive package of training will be provided for all new staff.


TEACHER OF COMPUTING AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Full Time required September 2018

TMS/UPS + 1 SEN point

Governors are seeking a highly driven and creative, specialist Computing and/or PE teacher to deliver both subjects throughout the school and across the full ability range, ensuring that students maximise their potential.  The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Computing curriculum and will deliver an accredited Computing/ICT course in KS4.  40% of the week’s teaching will be Computing and 60% will be PE.

The successful candidate will be joining a strong PE department, with inclusion and personal development as its focus.  Students take part in a wide range of sporting activities, with a vast number representing the school in local and regional competitions.

YEAR 7 FOUNDATION TEACHER

Full Time required September 2018

TMS/UPS + 1 SEN point

Governors are seeking a highly driven and creative teacher to deliver our Year 7 Foundation curriculum to a small class of Year 7 students and to mentor them in support of their academic and personal development as they transition to secondary school and through to Year 8. The successful candidate will receive support from the Year 7 Foundation Leader.

The Year 7 Foundation curriculum includes English, Maths, Science, Computing, PSHCE and Humanities, with support provided by specialist Subject Leaders.  There will also be a requirement to deliver a PSHCE/Life Skills curriculum to a small class of KS4 students.

KS3 NURTURE CLASS TEACHER
MATERNITY COVER for two terms initially, with the possibility of some part-time extension.

Full Time required September 2018

Governors are seeking a highly driven and creative teacher to provide the appropriate classroom environment, based around autism best practice, to enable a small group of vulnerable children to thrive and attain their academic and personal potential. The successful candidate will be required to deliver English, Maths, Science, Computing, PSHCE and Humanities, with support provided by specialist Subject Leaders. The successful candidate will be required to differentiate and adapt established Schemes of Learning to the specific needs of each student.

There will also be a requirement to deliver a small number of PSHCE lessons in KS3 and KS4.

TEACHING AND LEARNING ASSISTANTS X 3

Grade 4, Term Time Only.

35 hours per week. (Mon 8.30 – 4.30, Tues, wed, Thur 8.45 – 4.30, Fri 8.45 – 3.15)

Corley Centre is looking to appoint up to 3 Teaching and Learning Assistants to contribute to and support student learning within Key Stages 3 and 4, including one to support mainly in Year 7.
