Summary of Student Progress

REPORT ON STUDENT PROGRESS

AUTUMN 2017

KEY STAGE 3

  • KS3 progress is judged against the Corley Centre Threshold Assessment Model, introduced in September 2016 to replace the previous Progress Model, which was based on National Curriculum levels.
  • The Threshold Assessment Model is based on 3 levels of progress from the end of KS2 to the end of KS4 (old NC Level 4 to GCSE Grade C – now 4/5) and indicates expected progression at KS5.
Following removal of National Curriculum levels, all students were baselined against the Threshold Assessment Model
  • The Threshold Assessment Model indicates correlation between the new and old systems (e.g. Secure relates to NC Level 4/Working at End of KS2 Expected Standard)
  • Progress is measured half-termly on 5 levels:

Making significantly more than expected progress
Making more than expected progress
Making expected progress
Making small steps progress
Making no progress

  • The expectation is that the vast majority of KS3 students will be making Expected Progress (on track to make 3 levels of progress from KS2 to KS4)
